The book, which marked Bia Hetzel's debut as a children's author, tells of the adventures of a humpback whale - an endangered species - in Brazilian waters. According to Margareth Mattos, in an opinion prepared for FNLIJ, “important information emerges from the fictional text about the species to which Rosalina belongs - how it lives, how it reproduces, how it feeds - the risks it runs from predatory human action and how this action can be reversed. However, this does not make the text dull or overly didactic, on the contrary. The value of the book lies precisely in the fact that the information is conveyed in a playful and attractive way, arousing the interest of readers."
